New Beginnings

It’s been a while since my last post. A lot has changed in that time, and I’m excited to share what’s been happening behind the scenes.
Over the past year and a half, I made a big leap: I retired from my corporate job and dove headfirst into building a business around my passion—helping women master basic financial skills. My goal is simple: to empower women to feel confident managing their money and to have peace of mind, knowing they can weather any financial storm that comes their way.

Why This Work Matters

There’s nothing I want more than for all women to feel secure and self-assured when it comes to their finances. The numbers tell a sobering story. The most recent data I found, from 2019, revealed that 16% of women over age 65 in the US live at or below the poverty line. In a country as wealthy as ours, that’s a statistic that shouldn’t exist.
When you look closer, it becomes clear that many of these women never had the chance to learn fundamental financial skills or understand how to build wealth. Often, a sudden life change—like the loss of a spouse through death or divorce—left them without someone who understood the finances. But that’s not the only factor. Financial literacy is no longer taught in schools, and if financial skills weren’t passed down at home, many women simply didn’t get the training they needed to prepare for life’s challenges.

What’s Next: Resources and Community

To help change this, I’ve written (and recently updated) a basic finance book designed to make financial concepts accessible and actionable. I’m also launching a podcast before the end of the month, where I’ll be sharing tips, stories, and interviews to support women on their financial journeys.
