Money Basics Part V
Continuing on this journey of money self-discovery will lead to financial wisdom and eventually financial freedom.
Consider for a moment where you started. You were likely using words to describe your situation that were disempowering, which in turn led to your ever-increasing frustration with your financial situation.
Now you are taking care with your word choices and feeling lighter and more optimistic about your financial future.
You are tracking your money inflows and outflows and maybe seeing patterns that you would like to change.
For some those patterns might be:
- I am upset about … (fill in the blank) and I go shopping and buy a new outfit
- My boss yelled at me again about … (fill in the blank) and I went for a cafe mocha grande and a bear claw at Panera Bread
- Everyone else is going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans this year so I am going to break open my piggy bank (drain my savings account) and join them even though I know I should save that money for a replacement car.
Well, you get the idea.
As you continue on your path to Financial Freedom keep in mind the ultimate goal is to “work because I want to not because I have to” and that will help keep the splurge spending to a minimum.
I believe in you!
