Independence Day: Time to reflect and give Thanks
Today is Independence Day in the United States.
Time to pause for reflection on all the good things that come from living in a country where you are free to say what you want, do what you want, and as long as it is legal no one will bother you.
Yes, the Covid-19 pandemic is making life a bit challenging at the moment however, this too shall pass.
While you are waiting for a return to a less fearful time when leaving the house for groceries, work or leisure does not come with a laundry list of considerations (wear a mask, do I need gloves?, how close can I get to fellow travelers? etc); consider now a good time to review your financial plans.
For those who have been thinking that I really should learn more about managing money take the time now to do something about that.
My new book, Money is Freedom: A lifelong plan for achieving economic independence, is available now. Get a copy while it is on sale for the holiday weekend.
If you haven’t done so already start a gratitude journal. Write at least one thing you are grateful for every day. It doesn’t matter how bleak things may seem at the moment, finding something to be grateful for every day will improve your outlook. As your outlook improves, your disposition improves and in turn, your situation improves.
Take the time NOW to reflect on all the good things in your life and build on those positive feelings to get your life back on track. Even if your life is filled with joy adding a gratitude journal is helpful to maintaining that joy.
So before you run out to meet with family and friends for a picnic and fireworks displays take a moment to reflect on your financial picture and find something to be grateful for.
I believe in you!
