Businesses started to reopen - Is it safe for me to go?
The federal government has set guidelines to allow businesses to reopen while doing their best to keep everyone safe. On the surface, things are starting to get back to normal.
Some businesses are reopening while other businesses are still shuttered or only doing takeout/pickup orders in advance.
What makes sense for you?
Is now the right time for you to start going back to the businesses that have been closed?
The right answer for you will not be the right answer for everyone.
I would suggest that those with compromised immune systems, existing medical issues, particularly respiratory issues, should continue to avoid public spaces and order takeout or have items delivered. This minimizes your chances of coming in contact with someone either with Covid-19 or a carrier of the disease.
If you are healthy with no known medical issues then consider the people you live with or come in contact with on a daily basis. Are any of them in the high-risk category? You may want to continue using takeout/pickup or delivery to reduce the risk to those around you.
However, if you are healthy and not responsible for someone in the high-risk category then follow the precautions as laid out by the government and if you feel at all sick, consider either talking to your physician, going to one of the many walk-in/drive-up Covid-19 testing centers or there is now a mail-order test that you can do at home.
It’s your call. Just be safe. The precautions that are being advised have helped many states limit the number of Covid-19 cases. They can help you navigate this new reality we live in.
I believe in you!
